Tina Shoa

Dr. Tina Shoa is an associate professor at SFU's School of Sustainable Energy Engineering. She earned her Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia, Canada, in 2010. Previously, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow and Research Scientist at Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation, specializing in electrochemical modeling and characterization techniques. In 2013, she joined Cadex Electronics as Director of Research, overseeing research activities focused on battery modeling and diagnostic methods, which were integrated into battery products. Dr. Shoa joined the New York Institute of Technology's Department of Energy Management as an assistant professor in 2019 and was recently appointed as an associate professor at SFU's School of Sustainable Energy Engineering. Dr. Shoa holds multiple patents in battery diagnostics technology and has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed articles, as well as a book chapter.
