Mike Andrews is a seasoned professional pilot and Class 1 Flight Instructor with an extensive list of aircraft experience. Located on Vancouver Island, his position with Sealand Flight Ltd. specializes in the integration, promotion, and operation of the flight school’s Pipistrel Velis Electro, a fully-electric airplane. In 2022, Sealand Flight was selected to participate in a Transport Canada trial program to evaluate electric airplanes in Flight Training. On June 14th, 2024, the flight school made history as Canada’s first commercial flight operation to fly passengers in a fully-electric aircraft. Under the trial program, Sealand Flight is now pioneering electric flight training for both licensed pilots and new students alike. Mike Andrews and the Sealand team continue to spearhead new opportunities and development for their sustainable aviation initiative.
