Michael joined Siemens in January 2000 from the German telecom company, Deutsche Telekom. He brings over three decades of distinguished international industry experience to the table. In the realm of the electrical power industry, Michael possesses a robust technical foundation that is seamlessly integrated with strategic and business insights. Back in 2009, Michael led the Siemens Energy Automation Strategy team in Nuremberg, Germany to develop the concept of distributed power generation, smart microgrids, virtual power plants and e-Mobility, which became the innovation blueprint for the energy transition worldwide. His expertise is further enriched by his extensive market experience, which includes working with electric utilities, telecom service providers, and various industrial sectors, such as airports, public transit agencies, and marine operators. Michael holds a Legal Master’s Degree (LL.M) in Energy and Infrastructure Law from Osgood Hall Law School at York University in Toronto, a Master’s Degree (M.A.) in Political Science from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio and a Master’s level Business Diploma from the University of Bonn, Germany (VWA).
