Luke Gillies
Luke Gillies is a sustainable city builder, spending both his professional and volunteer careers advocating for sustainable cities and managing people and projects in the municipal space.
Luke is a member of HUB Cycling’s Board of Directors, a non-profit with a mission to get people cycling more often in Metro Vancouver. Luke is often seen out and about on his electric cargo bike with his dog Jimba who loves hitching a ride to the trails of North Vancouver. A Professional Engineer & Chartered Manager, Luke has previously overseen both municipal street operations and cycling focused projects both here and abroad. He is passionate about safety in active transportation and about fixing climate change at a local level. Luke holds a Mater’s in Engineering Management and in his professional life works as Deputy Director with Lonsdale Energy, a district energy utility that provides heating for 108 buildings & over 7,400 dwellings in the City of North Vancouver.
