Danica is passionate, visionary strategic leader with over 30 years of practice in the real estate, ESG, planning, development and architecture - including the private, non-profit and public sector. She led many leading practice organizations, policies, projects and programs, that have been widely recognized. Danica brings strong strategic leadership and business skills, ESG, financial and legal competency and is well acknowledged for collaboration and strong partnership building, including public engagement. As an Associate Vice President of Campus Planning and Facilities at BCIT, Danica is leading the BCIT campus planning and development at five BCIT campus locations. This is exciting new era for BCIT becoming highly sought out polytechnic school built on creative partnerships with the local industry, and innovative spaces to support the students and shape BC economy. As a President of the Architectural Institute of BC, she elevated the institute and significantly contributed to the profession of architecture across the country and even around the world, as evidenced by the signing of the mutual recognition agreement with European Union https://aibc.ca/2018/10/canada-and-the-european-union-sign-mutual-recognition-agreement/ Competent Boards alumni as a Global Corporate Director (GCB.D.) and Climate Competent Board Director (CCB.D.). Danica is a member of the Canadian Architectural Certification Board for alternative registration process for foreign trained architects (BEFA), as well as Governance Committee member of the Canadian Wood Council / WoodWorks BC. Danica and her team won 2020 CaGBC Goverment Leadership Award recognizing achievements in forward vision, strategies, planning and development of city owned facilities. Danica is the 2020 YWCA Women of Distinction Award nominee in the category of Arts and Culture.
